Tall Bifold Doors

You’ll need to match your new aluminium bifolding door to the aperture that’s going to contain it. In most cases, this is made relatively straightforward by the fact that doorways in the UK tend to follow certain sizing dimensions. However, when creating a brand new property or extension, you don’t need to conform to these sizing rules – NOW Aluminium can help you achieve a look that completely bespoke and different look for your project.

While there’s some slight variance, we tend to find that standard heights for our doors are around 2100mm, tall. However, our bifolding doors are able to be manufactured up to an incredible 3m high (3000mm tall) which enable you to create a beautiful feature opening for your home. Many door manufacturers do not offer height options over 2.4m so NOW Aluminium are the choice of many architects who are looking for a bifold door system that offers stand-out aesthetics.

The door’s width, on the other hand, can vary in size by several metres, and this size will depend largely on either number of panels your door design requires or the opening width of the aperture. Depending on the size of the opening, you could choose several different configuration depending on whether you would prefer a traffic door, odd or even panel numbers, more glass, less folding leaves etc. Less panels also tend to be more cost effective and given the increase in the amount of glass, achieve a greater level of insulation. However, a factor often overlooked is that you’ll need to consider the space outside the bifolds; larger panels will need more room to open out into. But, on the other hand, the more panels you have, the more space they’ll use up when stacked – it’s about finding the perfect balance for your home. Feel free to give NOW Aluminium a call to discuss – we will be more than happy to help and advise.
